TCC#61 - Searching for Ultimate Canucks at the 2008 Open Practice
Last Sunday we were fortunate enough to be invited down to GM Place for the Canucks Open Practice.
- Record as of this episode: 32-22-8
Northwest Division: 3rd
Western Conference: 7th
Aside from covering the usual episode topics, we hung out with and interviewed the guys from the Ultimate Canucks Search, as well as one of the Ultimate Fans, Richard Loat (of Facebook application fame).
JJ got on the microphone to interview passers-by, while we also got the chance to sit down with Kent - the voice behind the We Are All Canuckleheads podcast.
We had a blast, and it was great to have the entire gang together to record one of those rare “face to face” episodes.

TCC#60 - Keeping Up Appearances
Things are looking up for the Canucks (congrats to those who have managed to stay on the bandwagon). JJ, Alanah and John convened to discuss the latest games, injury updates, and other news from the league and around the organization.

Northwest Division: 3rd
Western Conference: 8th
Special announcements this episode:
- The Crazy Canucks will be hosting a “sports blogging and podcasting” panel at this weekend’s Northern Voice. Our session will be during the 2:15 - 2:55 time slot and there will be plenty of time for questions involving anything in the sports blogging realm.
- We will also be making an appearance at the Canucks Open Practice on Sunday. Watch for us recording live with the Ultimate Canucks Search team in the concourse. The Open Practice doesn’t cost a thing (except maybe a service charge) and it’s always a great event for the entire family. Stop by and see JJ, Alanah, Dave, John and Rebecca this Sunday!
TCC#59 - Hockey Community Warm Fuzzies
Even though our boys are struggling, the new kids are getting their sea legs and Colorado handed us our butts on a platter last Saturday, we’re still pretty optimistic. Speaking to the last 10 games where we’re 4-6, we look forward to the next road trip, securing a nice and comfy playoff spot and talk about some of the players we could have picked up, if we had the chance.
As we all chime in from our “studios”, JJ’s with a view of the Air Canada Centre, this episode is complete with warm fuzzies of the Hockey Day in Canada variety, and tales of communities rallying behind their favourite teams.

Western Conference: 9th
- Alanah shares her experience on the Island with the Cowichan Caps.

TCC#58 - Cardiac Kids on the Corner
What would you expect while our team is currently sitting outside a playoff spot? A drunken, raw and rant-filled episode of course!

We go mobile for this quickie episode while our team is on a downward spiral. Dave and John take to the streets and record their thoughts on our recent loses while tossing in some speculation, rumours, and flat out wake up calls to the team and some fans. Just for kicks, Dave even throws in a shout out to the Agridome… and something to do with horses.

It’s two Bollwitts and JJ again for tonight’s episode where we discuss the latest loses, last night’s shootout victory and the buzz machine that is Vancouver media. We dive into this Sunday’s All Star game as Atlanta’s turn hosting is already proving to be a challenge from a viewer’s perspective.
- Record as of this episode: 26-19-5

Western Conference: 7th
- JJ’s post about the Luongo blame game: Mole hills and mountains
- Alanah’s post about the Luongo blame game: Blame Luongo

TCC#50 - Like a puck in the face
Good day, and welcome to episode fifty. This is a long overdue one, and there were some technical difficulties that occurred before this episode saw the light of day. Regardless, we push forward, sadly without our good pal Dave, but he shall return. Alanah actually joins us about twenty minutes in, and hilarity ensues.
- Record as of this episode: 5-8-0
Northwest Division: 4th
Western Conference: 14th
The basic lowdown to this recording is that we are just as baffled as you are about our beloved team. There is no easy answers other than trying to pick ourselves up and work hard at being a better team on the ice. The recent 3-0 loss to Nashville is fresh on our mind, and it hasn’t been that much better before that.
Basically, this is a mix of topics combined with alcohol. Over Skype. Tread lightly.

John and Rebecca go mobile for this edition of TCC to give you a follow up report after going to customer appreciation day at Standard Building Supplies in North Vancouver. That might not sound overly exciting, but they also had NHL legends and Canucks alumni at the event, signing autographs and taking pictures with fans.
These two stood in line for two hours just to get to the table, and they give you their account of what it was like to meet and shake the hands of some incredible hockey players and legends in their own right.

TCC#40 - The puck drops here
Hockey is back! Well, we’re almost there, but the puck is dropping in pre-season action all around the NHL, and September 17, 2007 is when it started for the Canucks.
This episode ended up being a mix of content, mostly due to technical difficulties in the recording process. Everyone gathers online to discuss more of the jersey debate, but this is probably the last we’ll really hammer this topic. Then Dave and John hang out for a brief chit chat before the first game against Anaheim, and Rebecca ends this episode with a report on going to the game.

TCC#33 - We’re going to Disneyland!
A quick turnaround from the last posting, the whole crew gathers to give their rundown on the upcoming series against the Anaheim Ducks in round two of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Of course, we have to bask in the celebration a little bit longer of beating Dallas in game seven, but the attention gets turned towards the upcoming battle against the Ducks. It should be a beaut!

Second round playoff record as of this recording:
Vancouver 0
Anaheim 0
Best of seven, so stay tuned. We’ll be back to post more content as the series progresses.
2 commentsTCC#32 - Taking Dallas down in the first round
It was a nervous first round, but the Canucks pulled it off in game seven to win the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs against the Dallas Stars. Rebecca and John lead off this episode, stepping on their balcony to capture the atmosphere of the downtown celebration going on in Vancouver. After that, Alanah phones J.J. just a few minutes after he left GM Place where he had tickets for this amazing game seven. He has some great reports of the atmosphere from inside and outside of the garage, and hopefully you can make out what he’s saying from all the noise of celebrating fans in the background.
-
Playoff record as of this recording:
Vancouver 4 (Winner of First Round)
Dallas 3
Second Round Opponent: Anaheim Ducks
Dave is unable to make an contribution to this episode, but the Canucks Outsider was streaming live for the entire game with a variety of guests. With the second round coming up, watch for Dave doing more of these live vidcasts as well as getting back into the round table with TCC. We’ll try to link up together soon to give our second round analysis.
