TCC#67 – We are all number sevens
It’s been a strange ride since our last episode. We’re without J.J. on this one while he is out east for work, but you can expect to hear about some of his adventures as a Canucks fan in the land of… well… out there. However, it’s strange in the terms of watching a team that gives us great highs and puzzling lows.
- Record as of this episode: 4-5-0
Northwest Division: 5th
Western Conference: 12th
We’ll take a look at the games that we’ve gone through and give some thoughts on what we would like to have seen. Aside from business as usual, there is plenty to be said about the 7th Canuck promotion going on, Alex Burrows on Hockey Night After Hours with Marc Crawford, and the fallout of what happened in Edmonton and Dave from the Covered In Oil hockey blog (see links below for background). Also, congrats to Yumi for being the winner of our tickets to the recent Canucks Open Practice!

I know Canuck fans would like to think the towel thing started in Vancouver…but, really, it all started in Pittsburgh with the ‘Terrible Towel’ in 1975.

Roger Nielson just took it to another level…
Hey Guys,
Great show, yet again.
Interseting to hear your thoughts on Nazzy and Morrison. They have not been the same since Bert moved on, Ive seen nazzy play this season and he certainly looks as if he has the fire again. Good luck to him. I think its just us nucks fans being protective about the team we love. To basically loose our captain after so many years and then see him play well is sometimes a bit hard to stomach. That niggling thought of” Why didnt he play like that for us over the past few seasons?”
The Nucks do have a history, maybe not a Stanley Cup winning history but a history we should be proud off just the same. Anything that brings our former glories and former palyers to the fore has to be good. Especially to the newer and younger fans.
The history ,7th player thing brings me nicely to the your increased recognition . i know its not just your good selves but many of the bloggers, and other non-official sites. Its great to see the management opening the doors to publicity, parise and critisim. It mkaes the fans feel part of the team. i know for many years they stood back and didnt get involved with the newer forms of media. I think theyve called it right, stood back, saw what was happening before embracing it. As long as everyone involved is good mannered with no derogitary statements then its all good. The Nucks management have seen all your professionalism and rightly your getting the credit you deserve.
I loved the mention of the old wooden roller coaster at the PNE! What a ride that is! Completely different experiance if you sit in the front from whan you sit at the back. I lost everything out my pockets the last time I was on it. Which I must say was a 10 years ago! Its just like a Nucks season, up and down and roundabout!
Take care folks…Go nucks!

I too had to explain to several people what the whole seventh Canuck was about. I think the idea is the fact that GM Place offers our team a unique advantage for home games because of all the home support the Canucks have here no matter what and through all the highs and lows.
So I believe it was an attempt to recognize and perhaps stir up some of that passionate support that we as fans are fully capable of. Perhaps if they marketed the opening that is available on Canucks TV a little better I think it would have been received with more enthusiasm and understanding.
The HD PPV games when they actually work are gorgeous. At the time I am writing this the game against the LA Kings on HD PPV worked really good, I think we only missed 30 seconds of audio total across the entire game and the clarity amazing, at least it was on a 56″ LCD TV.
Hey guys,
Can you please mention this on the next podcast. I have just subcribed ESPN Europe 360. For the equivelent of $115 canadian, I get NHL centre ice.
More to the point I get every Nucks game! WHOO HOO!!!!
Live streamed over the net and I must say its of great quality with no break up or audio lag.
Great for all Nucks and NHL fans in europe.
