TCC#52 - We’re not complaining

Standard Podcast [53:11m]: Play Now | Play in Popup | Download

We haven’t been ignoring you. Life has been moving too fast for all of us to link up and get an episode recorded. We’re still without Rebecca on this one, and Alanah had to leave the rest of us half way through. Dave, J.J., and John stick it through to the end to round out the episode.

Record as of this episode: 13-9-2
    Northwest Division: 1st
    Western Conference: 3rd

A few episodes ago, we were down in the dumps. Even with all the players cycling through with injuries, we are not complaining about how well the Canucks have pulled together and surprised all of us. From the bench to the guys in goal, it’s been a nice few weeks, no matter how much Pronger sucks. Oh yeah, and Bertuzzi made his Vancouver homecoming.

    Hi guys,
Just to start by sayimg how brilliant show 52 is. More of that later. Now the bad bit. I had big problems downloading it from itunes. But they will never beat me when it comes to the Canucks!
Its been a great few weeks, good hockey, exciting hockey, Bert back in town and some really great wins thrown in too!
The team looks like they are a team now.Nazzy lokks more like the palyer he was 3 seasons ago. Hes skating well, getting in good positions and he seems more vocal too. I have always considered that to be a very integral part of any sporting teams captain personality. He looks back on his full game.Vigneault seems to be listening more rather than dictating. A good move in my book and looks like sucessfull too.Pyatt and Kesler are showing their up for it as is everyone to be honest. The passes are tape to tape, and no long passes down half the ice and getting back to help out the “D”. The “D” men are showing true grit, they are everywhere when needed, and getting forward too. Mike Brown has added some checking muscle and has done what he was brought up to do, and shocked a few people with some good moves too!
I really only have 1 issue, the penaltys! We are taking too many minutes in the box. Gees, I can see us shooting ourselves in the foot if we dont keep them to a minimum. Ok fair enough we are going to take some, but its too high a percenatge at the moment. Sort it out!!!
I cant not mention Bobby Lou! the Shut out King!Hes a hero! My Bobby Lou shirt is never off my back at the moment, although its starting to smell a bit!
Thanks for the mention on the show too! I agree, the US market is the biggest market for the NHL and yes the league should be trying to bring new fans in, its a big and the closest market. It was good to see the NHL here in Europe, the reality is I doubt we will ever see it agin anytime in the future, unless its an exhibition game. But it was was great to see for us hockey nuts here!
That brings me nicely to the the league saying they will not be shutting down for olympic time after 2010!Any player is so proud to play for his country in any sport. I dont see the players being happy about not going. I dont see the country federations being happy either, the NHL telling them they cant pick certain players.I persoanally think the olympic commitee wouldnt be impressed either. The NHL may do a lot of harm to the sport if they go through with it. A sport they are trying to entice people too. No, im sorry i just cant see it happening.
Well its the Blackhawks tonight or should i say early hours of Thursday here! Numbers are pretty evenly matched. Canucks win then!
    Take care you guys
    Steve……Go Canucks Go!!!!
