TCC#35 - The Crazy Canucks GetConnected interview

Standard Podcast [24:38m]: Play Now | Play in Popup | Download

This is an out of the ordinary episode of the podcast. We completely step away from all things hockey to have the GetConnected radio show interview a couple of our crew from TCC on April 28th, 2007. For the most part, this episode is pretty geeky and laced with a lot of tech related topics. GetConnected wanted to talk to us about podcasting in general, how to get started, and what to think about when you have a podcast.

We’ll be back with our regularly filled episodes in the very near future. Hopefully you enjoy this behind the scenes look at what goes into creating a podcast like The Crazy Canucks.

TCC#34 - A view from The Battle of California

Standard Podcast [16:59m]: Play Now | Play in Popup | Download

Game one against Anaheim was a difficult one for Canucks fans. A 5-1 loss with Luongo getting pulled in the third period, but that didn’t stop Alanah from making the podcast rounds on this episode. She is able to extend our playoff coverage by getting Earl Sleek, a Ducks fan blogger from The Battle of California, on the phone after he attended the game at the Honda Center in Anaheim. Sleek gives his perspective on the series opener as well as the Canucks fan presence at the game. The second half of this episode, Alanah links up with J.J. by phone to get his thoughts on the game.

Second round playoff record as of this recording:
    Vancouver 0
    Anaheim 1

Can you tell the difference between the two segments? Listening to J.J., you would never have known that the Canucks lost this game. Here’s to a better game two!

TCC#33 - We’re going to Disneyland!

Standard Podcast [27:30m]: Play Now | Play in Popup | Download

A quick turnaround from the last posting, the whole crew gathers to give their rundown on the upcoming series against the Anaheim Ducks in round two of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Of course, we have to bask in the celebration a little bit longer of beating Dallas in game seven, but the attention gets turned towards the upcoming battle against the Ducks. It should be a beaut!

Second round playoff record as of this recording:
    Vancouver 0
    Anaheim 0

Best of seven, so stay tuned. We’ll be back to post more content as the series progresses.

TCC#32 - Taking Dallas down in the first round

Standard Podcast [24:50m]: Play Now | Play in Popup | Download

It was a nervous first round, but the Canucks pulled it off in game seven to win the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs against the Dallas Stars. Rebecca and John lead off this episode, stepping on their balcony to capture the atmosphere of the downtown celebration going on in Vancouver. After that, Alanah phones J.J. just a few minutes after he left GM Place where he had tickets for this amazing game seven. He has some great reports of the atmosphere from inside and outside of the garage, and hopefully you can make out what he’s saying from all the noise of celebrating fans in the background.

Playoff record as of this recording:
Vancouver 4 (Winner of First Round)
    Dallas 3

    Second Round Opponent: Anaheim Ducks

Dave is unable to make an contribution to this episode, but the Canucks Outsider was streaming live for the entire game with a variety of guests. With the second round coming up, watch for Dave doing more of these live vidcasts as well as getting back into the round table with TCC. We’ll try to link up together soon to give our second round analysis.

TCC#31 - Not too big for our britches

Standard Podcast [30:44m]: Play Now | Play in Popup | Download

Recording on the same night that TCC makes its television debut on CTV, we’re back to keep the ball rolling as the Canucks do the same in the first round of the playoffs. Dave is a scratch for this episode, but be sure to check out his live video event going on this weekend to catch more of his hi-jinks in Canucks coverage.

Playoff record as of this recording:
    Vancouver 3
    Dallas 1

Of course, we talk a little bit about the coverage from CTV as well as how the last few games have gone for the Vancouver boys. Oddly enough, we forgot to talk about the one loss we’ve had thus far, but there are a series of surprises to talk about, namely folks with the name Pyatt, Bullis, and Hannsen. We’re keeping the spirits high and hoping for a game five win to this first round.

TCC#30 - Library Square Pub with CTV

Standard Podcast [36:48m]: Play Now | Play in Popup | Download

CTV in Vancouver contacted TCC about doing a “light feature” about our podcast, especially since this whole city is Canucks crazed with the first round of the playoffs going on. They started out with doing some shots with John “in the studio” and then followed us to a gathering of sorts at Library Square Pub, near GM Place.

Playoff record as of this recording:
    Vancouver 1
    Dallas 1

The package has not aired yet, and we’ll post a link to it if we can. Otherwise, enjoy the mayhem that is The Crazy Canucks. We break down the four OT win in game one, look at the injuries that resulted, who has come up, and get into a little listener feedback. Raw audio from CTV’s interview with Alanah is also included. Even though she couldn’t be apart of the fun at the pub, she (hopefully) still made it into the TV news. And if you found us from the CTV story, welcome!

TCC#29 - Playoffs phone update: J.J. at GM Place, game one

Standard Podcast [11:23m]: Play Now | Play in Popup | Download

J.J. had seats in GM Place for game one against the Dallas Stars. Little did every Canucks fan know that this game would go into four overtime periods, culminating in a Sedin to Sedin goal to win the game.

Alanah anchors this while J.J. chimes in with thoughts as he heads home after the marathon match. Listen for the sounds of celebration on Georgia Street in downtown Vancouver, and you get a real sense of how long this game felt for the fans. This episode is pretty straight up, but the TCC crew lacked energy to add much more to this short one. Keep your eyes peeled for more features like this, especially if anyone in the Crazy Canucks crew makes their way in or near the games.

TCC#28 - Break out the towels and put the flags on the car

Standard Podcast [46:35m]: Play Now | Play in Popup | Download

We’re back in the saddle with everyone on the horn in this episode. And what else is there to talk about other than the start of the first round of the 2007 Stanley Cup Playoffs? The Canucks are up against the Dallas Stars for the first leg towards a march for the final round.

Record as of this episode: 49-26-7
    Northwest Division Champions
    Final Western Conference Standing: 3rd

We look at a variety of things to look forward to with the oncoming series with Dallas. There is the comparison of the two teams, breaking down the goalie match ups, keys to winning, and how we all envision the games unfolding. Towel power is rampant in Vancouver and there is lots of neat things to discuss in regards to that.

Stole this from J.J.

NW Champs

Rejoice, Canucks Fans! Be assured that we’ll have more to say about this in the next episode very soon. Bring on Dallas!
