TCC#26 - Playoffs are on the horizon
Dave is a healthy scratch on this episode, but the rest of the crew gathers to tackle the recent games, look ahead to who is coming up, and hash out some topics that the big media folks are drudging up. J.J. makes a call in from the game he went to against St. Louis(W), and we look at the other two games against Detroit(W) and Edmonton(W) in true TCC fashion.

JJ…I question Viggy’s management skills when he calls out a vet player with the press. It is one thing to sit someone…and to call them out in practice in front of their peers…but to call them out in the press just doesn’t seem right. That’s why I said that Viggy should have lied during the press conference about Nazzy…then the press would have just let it go (Nazzy has been battling a flu bug the past couple days…blah blah).
Call it a difference of style. I’m all for the consistent approach…firm but fair…have fun, but not for the sake of the group or goal. But, when you have noted leaders in your group (now, I am just talking from a perspective of a manager in any line of work), you don’t call them out in front of the entire office…you may call them out in a staff meeting, tho. You don’t want to lose that persons leadership and partnership in the job you both have to do…because, ultimately your employees success directly relates to your success.
That’s where I come from on that. It may have some good immediate impact, but I feel in the longer term, it may hurt the relationship, which will hurt the larger team.
