The plan was to have us all be online for this episode, but Dave got held up at work and couldn’t make it in time. The rest of the crew gathered to go over the rest of the road trip out east. Two wins over Montreal and Ottawa, and a shootout loss to Buffalo that didn’t seem as bad as what losing should be.

Record as of this episode: 27-19-2
    Northwest Division: 2nd
    Western Conference: 7th

It’s the All-Star break, so we take a little time to talk about the festivities and the new uniforms that have been unveiled by the league. They ain’t so bad, but the change might result in more than just new threads. Also, we can’t help ourselves from talking about the Bullis rumors of him wanting a trade out of Vancouver.

This does end up being a long episode, but there is something a little extra on the end of this one. J.J., Rebecca, and John met up to watch the game against Buffalo at a pub in downtown Vancouver and caught some audio of the crowd gathered there during the shootout. Hopefully you enjoy the atmosphere of watching the Canucks in the heart of Vancouver.

Janny Bulis denies trade request rumors:

“I never said: ‘I want out.’ And I never said I want a trade. I don’t know where it’s going to go now. It was just a meeting between my agent (Jiri Crha) and (general manager) Dave Nonis.” [Canada.com]

And according to the Vancouver Province, there is confirmed discussion of swapping Bullis for Anson Carter. However, I also heard a bit of discussion about Peter Foresberg going for a Luc Bourdon swap, maybe throw in Bullis?

Oh that rumor mill is going nuts right now!

Fin’s got a blog post up. I commented about how me mentioned him on this episode of the podcast and I think I may have scared him a little :-P

I can’t believe you were actually trying to have a conversation with a cartoon whale.

I’ve had a conversation with him in person. He mostly uses hand gestures… and um… it got kinda PG13 ;) Needless to say I got his autograph. I won’t tell you where.

Don’t know if you guys take requests or not. But no harm in asking.

I’d love to hear what each of you think with regards to our schedule left and some predictions/hopes. You know with a couple of games against the Kings, Blackhawks and Blues left, and with couple left against those damn Avalanche.

Daz - That’s not a bad idea. I think we can talk about that next episode. Feel free to share us your thoughts as well. It’s always nice to hear what other fans’ opinions are. :)

PS. I hear John takes song requests as well. ;)

    OK…if we are doing requests.

I want to hear Alanah sing the national anthem, while the rest of yas drink beer. Complete with glugging sounds.

Er…sorry…on second thought…how about you all get together at that pub again and just let loose. I still think that was the best episode to date. Rebecca can go out and find that damn whale and teach him a thing or two about respect…

    sorry again.

Yes, good idea to occupy her with the singing while we consume the liquor :-P

We should have a big podcast party and invite Sharkey - err I mean FIN.

If that does happen Rebecca, you guys MUST get that on a mic and put it up as a podcast.
