TCC#5 - What the world needs now is more Ovechkin

Standard Podcast [23:50m]: Play Now | Play in Popup | Download

We go ‘Dave-less’ this episode as Alanah, JJ, John and Rebecca bring you this week’s discussion. The Ovechkins Capitals were in town on Friday and JJ shares his experience being at the game. From the awe-inspiring young Russians of the league, goalie showdowns, to shootouts.

Murmurs about the crazy schedules, that only bring players by once every election year, who we’d like to see more of and who we could really do without.

Nashville handed us a ghoulish defeat last night while we’re still getting used to the lines, players and Coach Viggy’s words of wisdom.

I like when JJ bags on Bulis. Agreed 100% He isn’t going to get much better than what we see now.

I am not going to join the Alex Burrows fan club though…

Holy crap, what were we on last night?

    Good times, good times.

What’s not to like about Alex Burrows? That just confuses me, Zanstorm. Stop it!

Very good times, J.J. Much fun

Yeah so I just left a comment on Alex’s post on the Players’ Blog - y’all said he should listen to this episode haha!

Um so we talked about Kesler not being happy - then he scores a goal last night. Then JJ bashes Bulis and he scores a goal. Mind you the night was pretty depressing and we lost by the biggest margin so far this year… but maybe we should talk more about Luongo (or another player) on the next podcast and see how he does in the next game :p

Next week, I’m gonna bash everyone.

    Everyone’ll score a goal then.

Hopefully the seven goal game wasn’t too boring for you last night. I guess maybe your guys were tired from a long day of shopping.

I can’t wait to read Alex Burrows’ next post and find out what he bought.

OK…so where is the bagging on the coach. Usually, by this time of any season in any pro league, the fans are calling for the head of the head coach!

Just so you know that your show is truly international. I downloaded #4 in China, listened to it somewhere between China and Japan. Downloaded #5 in Hawaii and listened to it somewhere over the Pacific.

I’m gearing up to do some talking about the coach. I’m getting kinda tired of mixing up the lines so much to find some thing that works, but one month into the new season is far too long for me. It would seem better to stick with one thing and let players learn how to work in their own lines. You keep throwing different guys together in various combinations and no one can get used to each other, unless you believe in magic.

Great to hear how far reaching this thing is going. Always want to hear who is listening in from where. Thanks for listening!

I was at the Caps game as well… wow, what a doozy! From Bourdon’s stick-check of excellence to Mo’s squeeker of a GWG, it was excitement from start to finish.
